Welcome to Alcove Mental Health
Hi, I’m Anahita Kalianivala—clinical psychologist and chronic pain specialist
At Alcove, I support people living with chronic pain, fatigue, illness, and emotional or medical burnout.
My main purpose is to support those who want to reconnect with themselves, find relief, and reclaim a sense of agency—amidst the chaos that coping with chronic illness can contain.
Therapy here is grounded in compassion, science, and soul—and centered around your lived experience.

A Collaborative Approach to Healing
My style is warm, approachable, and collaborative. Whether you're new to therapy or coming back after tough experiences, I meet you where you are. We move at a pace that respects your body, your goals, and your wisdom.
Science-Backed, Soul-Aligned Methods
From well-researched techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP) and pain neuroscience education to insight-oriented and integrative tools like Internal Family Systems (IFS or “parts work”) and nervous system regulation, I’ve got you.
I offer a range of evidence-based strategies that support healing—not pushing—so you can move forward with more ease, clarity, and self-trust.
Curious about how these methods work together? Read more about therapy modalities I draw from.

Why work with a chronic pain specialist?
Living with chronic pain can feel isolating, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Working with a therapist who specializes in chronic pain provides a unique, integrated approach—blending mind-body techniques with a deep understanding of pain science and the dynamics of the mind and body.
Together, we’ll explore tools that not only address your pain but also empower you to live with more agency, compassion, and clarity.

Are you ready for something better?
If you’re looking for a chronic pain therapist who sees all of you—not just the pain or your symptoms—let’s connect. I’d love to chat with you about my services and see if they’re a good fit for you.
