Online Therapy for Chronic Pain in PSYPACT States

How to Get Started

Everything you need to know about what to expect as we begin our work together.

We provide video telehealth services to residents of Nevada and PSYPACT states.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially when you’re navigating pain, stress, or major life transitions. My goal is to make the process feel as simple and supportive as possible. This page walks you through what to expect—from our first point of contact through ongoing care—so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

1

Step One

Schedule your free 15 minute consultation so we can chat about your current needs, our offerings, and figure out the right next step.

Please note: After you choose a date/time, you’ll receive a quick survey to help us prepare for your visit. Your appointment will be confirmed after submission.

2

Step Two

If you decide to continue, we’ll schedule a 90 minute intake appointment.

This is a space to discuss your medical and mental health background, as well as your current functioning—with an emphasis on how pain is impacting your life.

Please note: Before your intake, you’ll receive paperwork including consent forms, payment policies, and questionnaires that help me get a fuller picture of your pain history and your current concerns.

3

Step Three

Towards the end of your intake appointment, you’ll hear personalized recommendations from your provider—kind of like a “menu” of options. Together, you’ll decide what feels like a next right step. Our aim will be to start crafting a plan that is tailored to your needs—whether those are short-term, long-term, or a blend of both.

Based on your preferences, we’ll set up a plan for follow-up appointments, whether we start with just one session or book a few out.

4

Step Four
… &
beyond

Therapy is a collaborative process.

Together, we’ll tailor sessions to your needs, which may include exploring thoughts and emotions, learning pain neuroscience, practicing mind-body strategies, or reconnecting with meaning and purpose.

We’ll check in regularly to make sure the work continues to feel relevant and supportive.

Logistics

My sessions are for adults seeking support with chronic pain or other chronic health conditions.

Our session format will be via secure video telehealth via Google Meet. It’s expected that you’re in a safe, private space with internet access at the times of our scheduled appointments. (You can also check out our blog to learn more about how to prepare for a telehealth appointment.)

Sessions typically last 45-60 minutes, depending on your needs that day.

How often we meet is up to you—we can meet weekly, biweekly, or on a more personalized schedule, based on your needs and preferences.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Individual therapy sessions are $225.

Check out the full description of our fees here.

  • Yes! I offer a sliding scale for those experiencing hardship, with the lowest rate of $150 per individual therapy session. Please inquire to see if you’re eligible for this financial discount.

Sliding-scale spots are limited and offered on a first come, first-served basis.

No financial documents are required, and eligibility is based on self-reported need.

Rates are valid for 16 sessions, a full episode of treatment. If you choose to continue treatment after that episode of care, financial need and session rates will be re-evaluated based on clinic policies at that time.

  • Life happens, and plans sometimes need to change. If you need to cancel, please do so at least 24 hours in advance to avoid any fees.

    • Cancellations within 24 hours of your appointment will incur a 50% charge of your session rate.

    • No-show appointments will be charged 100% of your session rate. If your session was part of a pre-paid package, it will be considered used or forfeited with a no-show.

If you experience an emergency or technical issue, please reach out to me as soon as possible to see if a no-show fee may be waived and if your appointment can be rescheduled.

Please note that worsening symptoms related to your presenting concern do not qualify as an emergency under this policy. Living with chronic pain means some days are harder than others. Therapy is about learning how to navigate those difficult days. If you're in the middle of a flare, that doesn’t mean you have to push through a full session, but it also doesn’t mean you have to cancel. Maybe we spend our time doing a guided relaxation practice, or we switch to a phone session if that feels more manageable. The goal isn’t to force anything—it’s to help you build confidence that you can get through tough moments with support. Therapy is here to help you find solutions, even on the hard days.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

  • To reschedule or cancel an appointment, you can contact me by calling or texting 775-235-2406, OR reschedule via the client portal under “appointments” in the menu.

  • Yes, in compliance with the No Surprises Act, I provide a Good Faith Estimate for all clients. This written estimate will be shared with you before services begin, outlining expected charges for therapy and any other associated services. If you ever have questions about your estimate or experience unexpected charges, I encourage you to reach out so we can address your concerns.

If it helps, a typical course of CBT for Chronic pain is 12 to 16 individual sessions, following the intake.

  • While therapy sessions are the primary space for our work together, I’m happy to provide brief follow-up support between sessions for pressing matters. You can reach me securely through the client portal for messages, questions, or to clarify anything from our sessions. Please note that I do not provide urgent or emergency care between appointments, but I can help you find resources if needed.
